Upcycle – An old Zara Linen Shirt (part 2) Post author:Coco Post category:upcycle Post comments:0 Comments Post last modified:October 5, 2024 In my previous post HERE, I ripped apart an old linen shirt to upcycle and transform it in a more fancy garment. That is where I left it.A piece of fabric covers the front opening. I cut a strip on the selvage to keep the fringes hanging down.I sew them on the bottom of the shoulder yoke to keep the origanl cut of the shirt. The sleeves.I put the original sleeves on the fabric with a space between for gathers.I lifted the head (drawn in blue) 3 cm. It is what I removed from the body when I redrew the armhole. Cut out the new sleeve to the length you want. Here, I have used the selvage for the bottom of the sleeve. The sleeves.Sew the sleevesEven if it is baggy cut, there is a front and back in the crown curve. Now we have more add ons of fabric where ever it you want it.At the bottom, cut a strip wider than the one sewn below the shoulder yoke.Maybe shorten the sleeves if the proportions are wrong.With fabric add ons, we have to careful not to put too much and try different things.
